1) ASCE Blood Drive (11/09)
This is the perfect and easiest opportunity for you to give back to your UCLA community! All the blood collected goes right to patients at the UCLA hospital. They really need your help so grab some friends and come donate! What you get for donating: - a meal voucher, a free movie pass, a $5 gift card to the UCLA Store, or 4 hours of pay time for UCLA employees -POINTS for ASCE toward winning a catered food party!!! (Or something equally as awesome of your choice) -the knowledge that you are saving up to 3 lives with one donation! -all of the juice, cookies!, tea, coffee, hot cocoa, and trail mix that your heart desires Donating only takes 45-60 min, and that time includes-paperwork, medical history interview, donating (only 5-10min) and 15 minutes of relaxation and snacks! I know it's easy to forget about these kind of things, and just use the excuse that you're 'too busy' or 'too scared'. But I always like to remind people that for just 45 minutes of your time, you can walk away knowing that 3 people are alive because of you. And that is a pretty awesome feeling.
